The Founder

Steve Patton has nearly 20 years of experience in the Finance industry. He has been on the ground floor of several successful hedge fund start-ups and has worked alongside some of the most legendary traders in the industry.

Steve has a Masters in Quantitative Financial Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin, and a B.S.E. from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School with concentrations in Finance, Accounting and Philosophy.

Steve lives in Middleton, Wisconsin which was recently chosen by Money Magazine to be the #1 town (of its size) in America! In his spare time Steve enjoys racing in Ironman triathlons and playing in golf tournaments. He was recently recognized as Volunteer Ambassador for his years of volunteer work at the University of Wisconsin Hospital.

Director of Operations

Mark Harms is the COO of Patton Investments, LLC. He handles most of the non-trading responsibilities including compliance and regulatory issues, risk management, human resources, and investor relations to name a few. Mark joined Patton Investments from Promega Corporation, a Madison-area biotechnology company, where he was an operations scientist. At Promega he was responsible for managing the manufacturing operations of a portfolio of bioluminescent products with greater than $10 million in annual revenues which served the pharmaceutical and academic research markets. In addition, he was the lead manufacturing scientist in the development of multiple new products targeted at the drug discovery and cell biology markets.

Mark obtained a Masters degree in Biotechnology with a focus on Operations Management from the University of Wisconsin, and a Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences with a focus on biochemistry and molecular biology from Northwestern University.

In his spare time Mark is a competitive bike racer and triathlete. This year he won the Triathlon National Championships in his age division and was runner-up at the World Championships. In recent years he has been consistently ranked as a top-5 amateur triathlete in the U.S. He will be representing Wisconsin for the 3rd consecutive year in the Best of the U.S. Triathlon Championships in October.
